Their expertise covers computer engineering, information, communication and management technologies related to the field of information security. Students of the program can choose the faculty member of this program as the thesis advisor according to their personal interests to conduct academic research and practical training on professional topics.

Overview of the information security area (examples from NCKU EE faculty): the program focuses on industrial control security, network security and intelligent security, including industrial control system security, vehicular network security, satellite system security, resilient networks, PLC risk and security research, security incident modeling, ICS honeypots, blockchain security and AI-based security protection. Three research pillars of the program: industrial control security (ICS security, industrial communication protocols, critical infrastructure protection, secure programming); network security (computer network security, cryptographic protocols, attack and defense, security auditing); intelligent security (AI-based security protection, malware sample analysis, cybersecurity law, blockchain security).
